As CAFOs grow in Wisconsin, replacing family farms, there is simply not enough land to spread the excess manure safely. The WIDNR already acknowledges that both the Trade and St Croix Rivers are impaired. Adding new CAFOs, adjacent feedlots and manure spreading fields will exacerbate the situation.
