In a big win for Wisconsin water, the Court of Appeals has unanimously held that the DNR has the right to control contaminants that flow directly into streams and lakes. That was a pretty big hurdle.

How Big Ag thought they could dump untreated wastewater directly into lakes and streams is something we can’t even fathom. They obviously are used to having a lot of power. Sure, agriculture is a big part of the state’s economy but so is tourism. The health of the community might also come into play. Hopefully everyone can get what they need while respecting the needs of everybody else.
